What do you mean no spark? you have to have spark to have your engine running? Do you mean it has no getup and go? If it's spark then maybe distributor cap on this oldie but goodie (use to own a 1982 cutlass supreme brougham) ? Broken, or loose or dirty?. Or did they go the electronic route on this one, then it's on board computer. Or check your fuses. Thats the fun with electrical issues.

Toyota mini #6004 - set timing

Setting the timing on a Toyota Mini #6004 engine involves adjusting the timing of the ignition system so that the spark plugs fire at the correct time in the engine's combustion cycle. This is an important step in ensuring that the engine runs smoothly and efficiently.
To set the timing on a Toyota Mini #6004 engine, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Locate the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley and the timing cover.
  2. Rotate the crankshaft until the timing marks are aligned.
  3. Remove the distributor cap and rotor.
  4. Turn the engine by hand until the number one cylinder is at top dead center (TDC). This is the point in the combustion cycle when the piston is at the top of its stroke.
  5. Install the rotor and distributor cap and make sure that the rotor is pointing towards the number one spark plug terminal.
  6. Adjust the distributor so that the rotor is aligned with the number one spark plug terminal when the engine is at TDC.
  7. Start the engine and check that it is running smoothly.
It's important to note that setting the timing on a vehicle's engine requires a certain level of mechanical knowledge and skill, and it is best to be performed by a trained mechanic. If you are not comfortable with working on the engine, it is recommended to seek the assistance of a professional mechanic.

Will not start. engine turns over. fire is present

The rust on the exhaust will hardly inhibit a spark of the proper power. The spark should be a blue colour and jump with a sharp noise like a shot.

A graduated spark gap is the best way to measure the spark power. A modern engine ignition system needs to produce around 30,000 volts in order to start and run smoothly - that equates to a gap of around 3/8" or 10mm.

You have two coils on this engine. Test each wire for spark with the engine running. You'll find at least one wire not sparking. replace the coil that has the wire that's not sparking.

I have replaced the water pump on a '95 chrysler lebaron, 3.0 engine. We also replaced the timing belt. Now with everything put together we cannot get the engine to turn over. Could this maybe be...

Double checking the timing belt is not a bad idea. Especially if the engine ran prior to its replacement. Some sines of the belt being off would be backfiring through the intake. This is cause when spark is introduced when the intake valves are still open. Another symptom would be an erratic engine crank. It should turn over real smooth like it did before. If it cranks and slows down and then cranks again its a timing issue. If it seems like it is cranking over faster than it normally does it can also be a timing issue.

You can also check for spark at the coil. There will still be spark even if the timing is off. If there is no spark than double check all the connectors. This is a fairly involved job and something could have been easily overlooked.

If there is no spark try spraying a little carb spray into the intake. If ti starts and stalls you have a fuel issue.

If you disconnected the battery you can also try giving it a little gas while cranking the engine over. Sometimes it will take a while for chryslers to relearn everything after the battery is reconnected.

Hope that helps get you pointed in the right direction.

1991 dodge colt won't idle when engine is cold.

probably oil, it may be too thick when it's cold but once it warms up it liquefies and your engine runs smoothly. you could try changing oil, I'm guessing if you have a high performance oil the chances this is the problem may be greater since high performance things are usually geared towards working well when everything is hot
