Throttle body warning light.

According to a post on Fixya, the engine warning light blinking 4 times slowly followed by 8 times quickly is a sign of a throttle position sensor malfunction. The post also suggests that the engine not starting could be due to a fuel pump malfunction or a faulty spark plug.

Once you prime it and it starts will it keep running or die again until primed ?

are you irish ?? thats your alarm light warning and its meant to blink to warn any would be tea leaves that this vehicle is alarmed with a chipped key ,actually you better off leaving it unlocked as then the windows will not get broke by a junkie looking to see if you have any emergency cash in the glove box

If a misfire is bad enough the cpu will shut off traction control causing the light to come on. For the engine light to be flashing you need a heavy miss and shouldn't drive it due to potential Cat failure. Changing the coil can fix all issues if that's the only part causing a misfire, typically i would recommend changing the spark plugs while you are in there.

do you know what codes you have?

Why was the O2 sensor replaced in the first place? Was the engine light on before? What codes were scanned? A fault code related to the O2 sensor does nor always mean the sensor is bad, there can be other things that will make the sensor read incorrectly, such as bad plugs, dirty throttle body, etc.

Not sure if you have one fitted but if it runs while the key is in the start position but dies when you let it back to the ignition position it could be an open circuit ballast resistor. Can you smell unburnt fuel? What voltage is the battery at?

this could very well be the coolant resevoir/level sensor. if it is running poorly, these engines have a big tendency to foul up the throttle body and go from a 3" hole to about 1 1/2". if you take off the air horn to the throttle body and look inside you will be able to see what im talking about. now you can chip away at it but it must be done very carefully. dont let any fall down the intake. the proper way is to remove the manifold and let it soak. the egr is attatched to the throttle body and this is the reason for the carbon build up. also check your fuel filter. after this, it runs like a new car.
