I have a 2008 Chevy equinox 63K miles was brand new when purchased in 2008. None of my doors unlock with the key fob or the unlock button inside. I have to unlock each lock seperately by hand which with 2 small children is a pain in the a**... Please help on what could be the cause. I did notice that it seems as if my sunroof is leaking into the car maybe this is y, shorting out some wiring?? My rear door has no problems opening with lock or key fob HELP!!
1) Your key fob could need a new battery.
2) Your fuses could need checking.

your issue involves the master control switch panel on the drivers side and or the passenger side as well some how the contact inside the switch assembly has either shorted out or no longer makes contact for the unlock side of the circuit. replace the drivers side panel switchs it's either a series of switc hs or mostimes one sigle board of switchs. you are better off going to an auto parts store rather than a GM dealership this will save you quite a bit on cash on the parts. now as to the rear tailgate. if it is electronic controled and there is an issue with the master switch you can,t manually unlock it because of a safty issue built in the system. you can manually unlock the passenger compartment doors for thew same reasons of safety but doesn't apply to the tailgate. just replace the parts and this will take care of the problem

you have two relays on the interior fuse block one for locking and one for unlocking. Swap them and see if the problem is now such that they will not lock. If so you have your answer.

At first look, I would have guessed that your battery in the door opener was dead, but that is not the case. I suggest driving to a nearby Chevy dealer and ask one of the salesman if he/she can help. They have always been helpful to me. If not try another one as they are in business to sell not only cars, but service also. They will be your best bet to fixing it. :D
