1999 Dodge Ram 1500 runs ok til warm, then..

My 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L runs ok when it starts, but as it warms up the idle drops, it acts like it will stall(and occasionally does). Also on the road it works ok sometimes and floods other times will barely run. I'm getting P0172 as a code, ''System too rich, bank 1''. Just not sure what to look for in reference to that. Any ideas?

Have your battery tested. When the battery has a problem the dodges will act this way.

The temperature gauge on my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 is not working. The temperature sensor and the thermostat have been replaced.

Check the gauge by holding in the trip odometer reset button and turn key to run, hold button for 10 seconds this will iniate a diagnostics on all the gauges, and lights if gauge doesn't move during this test replace gauge,if it does move then check the wires on the plug at the engine coolant temp sensor (ects) you can check the sensor by using a ohms meter by unpplugging it and check ohm's or resistance when cold and then start engine as the engine warms up the ohm's reading should gradually lower as the sensor is a thermister and as it warms up the resistance will drop.

If the engine seems to run fine over 1450 RPM maybe there is a vacuum hose leaking or EGR valve is slightly stuck open. Any help from the OBD II trouble codes? Or is there simply no MIL and no stored information in the OBD II computer read at the local parts store through the connector by the drivers knee?

if there is not a vacuum leak it seems that the signal wire to the MAP is either open or shorted to 5 volt reference wire. if not either of those may be the PCM
