Look for a lose connection at the crank shaft sensor. This is a signal needed for obtaining tachometer as well as turning on the fuel pump.

SOURCE: the car won't start. i

  • If the starter is not turning at all, check your underhood fuses for a blown starter fuse. If the fuses are fine, you may have a failed starter/solenoid. If you remove the starter, Autozone and Advance Auto Parts will check it for free. It is also possible that your ignition cylinder (key cylinder) has gone bad, but less likely.
  • If the starter is turning over, but the engine is not starting, you may have a failed sensor, faulty ignition coil, jumped timing, or bad ECU.
What is the year, and model of your Toyota? Do you have a check engine light on? If so, what are the codes?

SOURCE: I hooked my car battery up backwards on my 05

  • When you hooked the battery up backwards you blew the 100Amp main fuse. You have two fuse boxes. One under the hood and one under the steering wheel. i recommend a look at the fuses in general. Which that 100 Amp fuse may bring some life back to the car there could be some more stuff to look at depending on how much (if) any damage was done.

My VW golf TDi won't start since I changed my battery. It started fine for three days and now there is absolutely nothing there when I turn the key not even a click. Please help

1. Do all lights, accessories, central locking system etc in the car all operate normally.

2. Have you tested to see if the car starts when you try jump starting from another vehicle.

3. What warning lights were displaying on the vehicle a day or 2 before you had the problem.

4. Were you having the same starting problems with the old battery that you have just replaced.

Replaced the fuel pump on 97 dodge mini caravan now motor wont crank like the battery is dead. tried jumping it - nothing. All lights work bright! What did I do wrong?

I would check the starter for voltage first - there is a starter relay that is grounded by the PCM. If the ASD relay is faulty the pcm won't have power. You should have battery power to the starter and power on the solenoid when you turn the key to start.

1992 toyota pickup won't start and battery won't charge

Sounds like your battery is just too dead, has enough juice to light up the system for a minute but cranking drains it and if it wont charge then deff fried, you could try removing the battery and starting the car with cables to confirm the starter still works. If a bettery is too dead then when you are jumping it, it takes to much of the power just trying to get through the battery.

Ignition relay or fuse could be the problem. When you turn the key to start do you hear a fuel pump kicking on and or do you have spark when you hot wire the starter (I know it's hard to check while trying to start it)? You can email me back and I might be able to pinpoint it more.

if u unplug your battery for acouple hours it will reset youre ecu/cpu. (everything) does it turn over? or absolutly nothing? if nothing sometimes ur battery loses so many electrolytes it can't retain a charge therefore jumping won't help. new battery first step! local junkyards probably have a good battery for $20. Let me know if this helps.
