SOURCE: 2005 GMC Pickup speedometer does not go to zero

There was not a recall, but there was a class action settlement where GM agreed to extend the warranty on certain vehicles for this problem. Check www.gmspeedometerrecall.com to see if you qualify.

I hear a loud clunking noise coming from the rear of the truck every time i take off from a stop

Three things: Either the rear brakes are releasing, causing a clunk, try service and adjust rear brakes. If not, go to the drive shaft, check the u-joints and/or jack up the rear of the truck and rotate your tires by hand to see if there is a clunk in the rear end itself.

I have a 2005 GMC Sierra Z71 4x4 that recently started making a loud creaking noise in the front end. It is very loud and occurs instantly when turning the steering left or right, and also is noticeable...

You might want to check the ball joint. None of them have grease zerks and can dry out. They will cause a noise when turning or hitting a bump, if really bad. Hope this helps.

Loud clunk noise front front end when put into 4wheel drive. Also feels like binding when turning?

You have a bad universal joint. you have to take the spindle off to replace this. once the spindle is off you can pull the shaft out. the universal has to be pressed out and back in. As far as the binding, that is normal in close tolerance turns. you get it alittle more with bad joints.

Clunking and grinding noise

My 2003 F150 Supercrew would not engage in 4x4, it ended up being the shifting fork in the front end, cost me $200.
