Well, this is just a guess, but it sounds like you may be running up against your rev limitter. I know what my rpm's are in both my 4cyl escort and my v8 porsche,@ 70mph its about 2800 ;-) I suspect you have a manuel trans? Shift a little sooner or get it chipped, in this case reprogramed.

Ok, there is going to be a box underneath the hood of your car. It is usually on the drivers side. You will be able to open this box and there should be a diagram on which fuse is the heater. Be sure to take off the battery terminals before switching these fuses out (just in case).

We have 2005 mercury sable. Horn was not working but you could hear the relay clicking inside the vehicle when pressing the horn button, and the fuse was fine. I found the horn by looking under the vehicle behind the driver side headlamp. Tapped on the horn with a wench and IT WORKED AGAIN!
