I suspect a fuse operation controls the digital clock image which has gone blank. Can you provide me the location & number of the fuse to check this operation difficulty? Thank you - Bruce
The clock is most likely on the fritz. The good news is that you can have it refurbished cheaply at www.subaru-clock.com. If you email "Dr.Clock" at the above website (as he calls himself), he will even provide some simple tips on how to remove your Corolla clock in just a few easy steps.
Look on the fuse panel on fuse panel cover inside ther is a list and diagram of fuses. Check corresponding fuse if it is not blown then you need to replace a bulb.

I have the same problem with my corolla digital clock. The digital time flicked on and off for a few days; when I tapped the screen it would flicker on. Now it no longer shows the time. I will check the fuse to see what happens
My clock display is also out. It would turn on and off on its own while driving, I can tap it and it doesn't change its status. I have checked all the fuses, and all are fine. Any other suggestions, as leds don't burn out, and it still turns on and off intermittently.
Thank you.
