Your owners manual should show you where the fuses are located. If you don't have an owners manual, you can go to
my.gm.com, type in your year--make--model and hopefully read your owners manual for free.
Do the brake lamps work ok?
I found these fuses, not only check fuses, check for voltage on fuse circuit, use a test light. Some fuses are hot all the time, some go hot with the key on.
Any codes for the cruise system?

You could possibly have a "brake lamp switch" faulty in your vehicle. There is a recall on these for certain model vehicles. Your vehicle may think your brakes are on, which isn't allowing the cruise control to activate.
Also the new Hyundai's are manufactured that if the Engine light is on, your cruise control won't work.
But I would try the Stop Lamp Switch first.

why not post the symptoms,?
and call cars today have vast numbers of circuits sharing a small number of fuses.
is the CEL glowing key on, and off running, if not pull the DTCs
this car is fly by wire, and cruise only works, if all ELSE is perfect.

M/T or A/T
V6 or 4cycl?
all are different, so Ill answer, in the generic and USA 4banger.

fuse #7 , underhood, and 7.5amps.
Cruise seems to also steal power from the Horn fuse. too.

flybywire, or as honda calls it ETC, electronic throttle controls.
if the PCM sees just the slightest error here, cruise is canceled.
( pure safety logic)
so , is the CEL glowing key on, then off driving>?
if not , why not look for DTC errors. (a scan tool)
TAC module errors.
TPS errors, and many other related systems errors.

but never try to fix any car until you know what engine you have
the model level , DX? and the transmission, and tell the helper
as he can not look under your hood.

My experience says "Yes" to adding the factory cruise control set up...you might use your friend's Jag as a great comparison to the needed parts and installation...If you have difficulty locating the factory parts...try a salvage dealer on line...Your model can also be fitted to aftermarket cruise control. Sometimes the aftermarket cruise is less costly, and can be installed by Ziebart or other vendors. You might compare the cost, and the final look. Hope this helps.

There are a few things you can try. First, check your
brake lights, if they do not work the problem may be
in the stoplight sw circuit. Also there are 3 fuses you
can check, 1 is a 25amp in the fuse block under the
hood the next 2 are in the fuse block under the dash.
One is the 15amp stoplight fuse and the other is a
10amp turn sig fuse. These fuses are either directly
or indirectly related to the cruise ctrl. Next check the
cruise switchs accel/coast set/resume if either sw.
was sticking in any posistion for 90 seconds or more,
the cruise ctrl. will shut down. There are trouble codes that will set but they won't trip the check engine light. You'll need an obdII scanner to recover
them from the memory. If you don't have one, go to
autozone/napa or advance auto parts they will scan it
free. The codes of interest are po571 stoplight switch
po567 and po568 the cruise ctrl switch's. And any
other codes related to the torque converter clutch -
the speed sensor - throttle actuator control.

short , loose connection or relay --most likely ---those little green light flicker or come on when generally there is an intermittent short, loose connection or a relay or fuse going to fail soon
and nothing works without a good ground ---one could check if the correct voltage is reaching the cruise contol system and go from there

Just my 2 cents --wiggle the connections --gently ---the cruise control is a complicated sysytem somewhat --you may need another symptom to appear to narrow this down more
but then again --I hate Tow trucks it's a GM --SELL IT Buy a foreign car don't go to ford either

a friend of mine once told me --a 30+yrGM master mechanic that thanks to GM's faulty wiring harnesses and stuff HE will NOT ever want for work and Ford isn't any better --
Get the Toyota if you can that is --unless you are a GM Fan

I think your model vehicle is subject to 2 recalls. The first is to have the ECM reprogrammed and the second is for a cruise control clip. Both of these recalls exist for sure and may be a good place to start. You can check on "MySubaru.com (you will have to register) to see if your vehicle is affected. If the ignition was replaced having the ECM reprogrammed and the keys programmed might fix the issue. May fix the cruise control as well.

Not really sure on parts pricing (probably very expensive) but very complicated and work intensive to install... Need to get the engine computer reprogrammed for cruise control, install all the wiring (to the brake light switch, the speed sensors, etc...) install the servo/vacuum motor and cables to the throttle assembly...
