YOUR RESPONSE ABOUT THE WINDOW ON THE 04 NISSAN MAXIMA, YOU RESPONDED THAT THE WINDOW MUST HAVE SLIPPED OFF THE ROLLING PULLEY OR THE PLASTIC PIECE IS BROKEN THAT HOLDS THE WINDOW. MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I FIX IT?

My passenger side windo was acting weird. Had to hit window lock, when window got stuck open. Got stuck in open position, not sure if I need to replace regulator, motor or both. Some direction would be helpful. Fairly handy and like many others, money is kind of tight. Thanks for the help before hand.

A

You window must have slipped off the rolling pulley that pushes the window up or one of the plastic pieces is broken that holds the window.

Interesting trouble you have there. Does your maxima have the intelligent keys where you can command remotely the power windows down. Has there been previous repairs done on the driver side door? You may want to monitor the the resistance values of your door key switch while car sitting at rest. It should be quiet reading on one value. Good luck.

problem can be the door switches or the tracks

chances are your window regulator just broke on you. usually the plastic clips break off. Im not sure if you can just replace the plastic clips or have to replace the whole regulator. go into a nissan dealer parts dept and have them pull up a diagram of the drivers window. it will give you a very good diagram of what the regulator looks like. hope this helps!

Window on the passenger right side window, it will not roll up hear a clicking noise. sometimes roll up.

The gearing on the regulator has partially stripped. You need a new regulator, find one on ebay or a parts store and pay a glass shop to install it. Save yourself lots of cash over a dealer price unless you have a 10-10 bumper to bumper warranty.

Driver side window stuck on Nissan Maxima 2004

It is likely the window motor is wearing out and will need to be replaced. You can always try a different switch on those wires to rule out switch problem. Otherwise, the motor will have to be replaced.

2003 Nissan Maxima. Passenger power window problem

Same problem on passenger door 92,000 miles. Dealer said he can reset the regulator inside the door by pressing button. I am looking for more information on this problem too. He estimates 1/2 hr (~$50) to do work.

Fog lights on a maxima 2004

you can access those by removing the coolant overflow bottle on passenger side and air filter box on the drivers side. you do not have to go into the wheel well area at all.
