The bulbs are inside the parts you mentioned, the units must be removed from the car, the top cover taken off and the bulb can then be replaced, these are tiny little peanut shaped bulbs, they are available at any good parts store.

Symptom is radio diplay or controls don't light up, Delco CD radio's and Bose preminum sound radio/CD players. Models all GM cars and trucks 1990's to presnt.
This problem is caused by two tiny burnt out bulbs behind the LCD display thay are soldered to the circuit board behind the radio LCD display and can be replaced, this requires the radio be removed and the housing taken off and the front display un-clipped, you will need a low temperature solder pencil and thin strand solder the bulbs are available from Radio Shack, the part number is 272-1092, this is a 2 pack of miniature 12 Volt 60Ma bulbs. 3G Mitsubishi Eclipse Climate Control Light Bulb Replacement

The control panel for the heater and A/C must be removed. Suggest you get Chilton's manual from the library. It will take you through step by step with pictures. To summarize: 1) Remove trim panel covering radio and heater controls. 2) Remove radio. 3) Disconnect the two heater control cables from the control panel. The trick to removing the cables is to compress the "claw" spring holding the cable by pressing a screwdriver from the underside of the control panel to release each cable.4) Remove control panel. Take to a workbench. From the backside of the control panel at the top, notice two large holes through which you can access the V2 Toshiba bulb holders. Turn them a quarter turn to remove them and the bulbs. The bulb is a common #74 bulb.

1999 Cougar radio display works sometimes

the radio display is lighted from the back by a miniature bulb, this is the problem, the filament is almost burned out or the bulb is loose in the socket, to replace this bulb u must remove the radio (requires special radio removal tool kit, about $6.00) and then the top cover off the radio, the bulb socket twists into the back of the display, you can buy the bulb at any parts store for about $2.00

Display on climate control screen is out and i don't see any type of description on fuse panel that fits this problem. AC, heater, fan, everything else works but the display.

U must remove the climate control unit from the dash and remove the top cover of the unit, u will find a tiny twist in light bulb socket with a tiny little light bulb, this provides the backlight for the AC/heater display, u can buy the bulb at any auto parts store, couple of bucks.
