I changed the sparkplugs and sparkplug boots in my 2001 olds aurora 3.5 v6 and when i started it the check engine light came on and started flashing and it was idleing very roughly, it was not doing this prior to changing the sparkplugs and boots does anyone have any suggestions?

check for black smoke at exhaust. stuck choke.... clean with carb. cleaner. could need adjusted. possible stuck float. no quick fix. diry fuel filter. replace.

You didn't tell us the engine size, so here are all three options...
2.5 liter L4 VIN "U"
2.8 liter V-6 VIN "W"
3.8 liter V-6 VIN "3"
With Type I Ignition
With Type II Ignition

On the 2002 olds alero 2.2 4 cylinder ecotec the spark plugs are located on top of the intake, under the cover that gives the engine size,it I think that yours are also located under this cover. All you have to do is remove the four bolts on top of the cover and your plugs will be under there.

try turning ur idle up its the pin on the throtle body just make sure u tuen the engine off and on again fter each adjustment to reset ur computer on ur engine
