Light in dashboard keeps coming up "service stabilitrak traction control", how do i fix this problem?
Before you do anything check your BREAK FLUID LEVEL. A low level will cause the stabilitrack light to come on later the break light will come on thus disabling your cruise control.
If the Stabilitrak Yaw sensor box gets full of water you will get the Service Stabilitrak message.
The 2006-2011 Cadillac DTS and Buick Lucerne have a manufacturing defect of a major water leak problem at the bottom of the driver's side A pillar just below the windshield, accessible after the air inlet grille panel under the wiper blades is removed. The GM service manual bulletin #PI0356A (June 8, 2011) vaguely outlines how to seal off this opening, see attached photo taken from this bulletin. After sealing the obvious unsealed seams, I had to use fire-block insulating foam to close off the large 1 inch remaining upper opening.
The Cadillac DTS has another water leak path in the left front hinge pillar area under the wheelhouse liner noted in the same service bulletin.
In our Lucerne CXS, water actually flooded the Stabilitrak Yaw sensor box which is under the carpet under the driver's seat, resulting in the service Stabilitrak message . It's a major chore to remove the seats, trim and center console just to get the carpets out to dry. The carpets are difficult to dry because they have 1 inch of foam attached which holds a lot of water.
After removing the carpets and sealing the obvious seams, water still poured in when tested with a water hose and it was then I discovered that the water was getting in through the large upper opening which I used fire-block foam to seal. It's best to water test before you put everything back together.
You can quickly check if you have a water leak problem in your vehicle by popping up the rear seat bottom, removing the carpet clip and lifting the carpet on the driver's side rear passenger seat. Ours had about a 1/2 inch of standing water plus a lot more held in the carpet's foam rubber.
I was able to reuse the flooded Stabilitrak Yaw sensor by opening the box, shaking out the water, rinsing the insides with isopropyl alcohol and drying with a hair dryer. The service message went out and the Stabilitrak works in my attempts to slide around on gravel.
I'm surprised that GM didn't have a recall as I consider Stabilitak to be safety equipment.
SOURCE: traction control won't disengage.
You can pull the fuse for now. The traction control pump could be faulty or the wheel sensors are dirty and need to be cleaned with brake parts cleaner

I would advise to take it to a shop you trust and let them scan your vehicle for trouble codes. From there they can give you an idea as to why these messages appeared. : )
SOURCE: traction control off, service traction control,
{: ) Your stabilitrak system may not work properly. The vehicle need to be scanned for trouble codes. In case you get a C0196 code, the recommendation is to reprogram the electronic brake control module. I hope that's the only cause.

check out this link. It will help you understand the system. There is a section on this link called "quick fix". It describes a 10 minute trick. Perform this trick 3 times in a row without trying to start the car in between. Turning the key back to the off position after each ten minute cycle. This is a complete passkey reset. After the 3 rd time, turn back the key and then turn it forward and try to start it. The whole process will take around a half hour. If this doesn't work, you'll need to take it to a dealer. Good luck. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
