I over filled my Peugeot 307 with oil yester day. I drove it for about 30mins on the motorway then about 10mins on normal roads. When I returned to the car after about half and hour it would not start at all. All the electrics are working but the engin does not turn over at all, no sound. Also, the emission control system warning light stays on. Any ideas what could be wrong.

The flashing is telling you that the engine is mis-firing, the dealer will run a test to determine the cylinder that is mis-firing, chances are it is something simple

It needs a code scanner hooked up to it,to tell you why the light is on and the cause. If there is an autozone near you take it there or
call different auto part stores to find out if they do that.Without getting the code, it's just guessing what the problem is.

Sounds like a starter motor problem. Possibly a sticky solenoid. Try rocking the car or giving the starter and solenoid a hard bang with a hammer.

usually you should do it for peugeot diesel at 122000 miles along with water pump and the tensioner roller that runs under the cambelt too. But to be on the safe side do it at 100000 and save the fortune.
It took me (DIY job) about 6-8 hours as i wanted to save 450 pounds.

it is under the right front light of the car and you should replace in a peugeot center in order to set it up on the computer or it will not work.
