Idle speed fluxating

I have a 1996 Buick Rivera and have a problem with the idle on it. after it warms up the idle just fluxates up and down. if you are driving it it rusn fine until you come up to a light and it will start to go from 700 rpm up to about 1300 andthen back down. It will keep doing this as long as you are at the light or ideling

Does any one know what the Vehicle speed Sensor does, could this be the problem for my ideling problem? Also anyone have any idea about the Idle control valve

SOURCE: 1999 Buick Regal hesitation while driving

most likely it is not actually a misfire it is the overdrive/TCC solenoid kicking on and off, it is a common GM transmission issue

Idk if I have rod knock? I wanna be hopeful it's something else? There was no warning noise, smoke, engine lag...nothing. Then BAM! Loud knocking while I was driving along...car didn't die, no major oil...

lift the bonnet and look for the obvious, like a broken drive belt
to the alternator etc
If you damaged the engine it will be rough running , banging itself apart, smoking so from your description, poor as it is I would be looking for ancillary parts failure, tire failure , cv joint failure or something like that

How do i adjust the idle in my 1996 buick lesaber?

There is no idle adjustment on a 1996 Buick LeSabre. The idle speed is computer-controlled. Incorrect idle speed can be caused by many things including a faulty Idle AIr Control (IAC) motor, vacuum leaks, or malfunctioning sensor inputs or circuits such as the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). If it is not idling correctly, the engine control system must be properly diagnosed to find out the reason why.

1996 ford bronco 5.8 litre, auto, engine idle has

Do you have a check engine light on? First thing I would do is unplug the IAC motor when the engine is warm. If the idle speed doesn't change you have a vacuum leak or a bad IAC motor. If the idle speed goes down you might have a bad TPS or IAC

First thing in the (cold) mornings heater wont work. water gauge flux's up and down weird . then about 20 mins into driving its warms up

Your engine coolant is what your heater gets the heat from. You need to start your car and let it warm up for awhile before any heat will come. This is how most cars heaters work. Yours sounds like it is working fine; most cars take a little while to warm up.

Hope this helps!
