I had the same problem, there's a group of wires on a harness below the steering wheel, big blue one and red and pink, and about 8 other little ones, anyways the big red wire and the medium size red wires are for the heater motor, clean the terminals and plug back in and good as new

2004 Dodge Ram 1500 four-wheel drive automatic factory Air Cruise tilt 5.7L engine, I need to know how to hard wire the blower motor

1am
the blower has 2 pins
the blower is just 12vdc brush motor,
and 1pin is ground and one is 12vdc
  • unplug it first or cause a nice fire.
  • then hot wire it. if wired backwards the motor turns backwards
if blower is weak reverse the connections.
Id use a 30amp fuse as the jumper plus wire, inline fuse
unless brave, and fuse-less.
if brave unplug it when done, do not just walk away from hot wired any thing.
be safe ok> and GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!

Tilt wheel stuck I the up postion,How do you fix it

This happens with my ram. The tilt wheel locking pin is stuck. When this happens to me i have to wiggle my steering wheel up and down and pull on the tilt release lever at the same time until the locking pin slides out of it's locked position. I have found that if i do not lock the wheel in the max up or max down position i do not have this problem.

Sparks under steering wheel of dodge ram 1500 2003

My blower on my 04 would randomly cut off but if you tilted the steering it would sometimes work again. Pulled the cover off the steering column and found that one off the connections(plug ins) was arking. Squeased connection closed a bit more with a small screw driver and put some electrical dilithium grease in it and haven't had a problem since.

Diagram for the placement of the fan blower motor in a 2003 Dodge ram 1500 truck

From autozone.com
2003-04 Vehicles

CAUTION On vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in an accidental airbag deployment, possible personal injury or death.

NOTE The blower motor is located on the passenger side of the vehicle under the instrument panel. The blower motor can be removed from the vehicle without having to remove the HVAC housing.
  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the blower motor.
  3. Remove the three screws that secure the blower motor to the HVAC housing.
  4. Remove the blower motor from the HVAC housing by rotating and tilting the blower motor as needed for clearance.

    To install:
    1. Align and install the blower motor into the HVAC housing.
    2. Install the three screws that secure the blower motor to the HVAC housing. Tighten the screws to 20 inch lbs. (2.2 Nm).
    3. Connect the wire harness connector to the blower motor.
    4. Reconnect the battery negative cable.

My 04' doge heavy duty left front headlight quit working. the bulb was not bad but i changed it anyway still does not work lamp out light stays lit. also when my tilt steering is at certain angles my...

obviously the wires between the steering column are worn and broken .replacement or fix is needed this is notorious with tilt wheel .
as you already noticed tilting the wheel causes one issue and or result and another position causes yet another result ......most likely cause resides within the turn signal lever itself ...either remove the bottom cover to the column and find what wire is doing what or i would suggest a replacement part is far more worthy in the end and try to not use the tilt as much it is a notorious to occur on any vehicle .
consider either after market or salvage yard .

Blower motor for heat and ac would only come on when I messed with the tilt wheel. Now it wont work at all.

Try the ignition switch, dodge has them on backorder so there is a problem that just has not got big enough to recall. The switch is only $14.30 unless you have a V10. Mine started off as the turnsignals quit working unless you moved the tilt steering and the the heater would only work in the tilt up position.
