2001 kia sportage brake fluid leak problem

My kia is leaking brake fluid, the resevoir is empty every other day after putting in a full bottle of brake fluid. odd thing is there is NO spotting on the garage floor, or any drip to speak of to help locate the leak. its like my brake fluid is just dissapearing.

anything you might know thaqt can help would be greatly appreciated.

Kia s leak is common in the proportioning valve located on the fire wall two line from the master cylinder to the pv then 4 lines comming out, Ther eic two hew nuts on the top of the valve. Simply look at the one that is wet take a 16 mm ratchet and take off the hex nut. Now there are two different set ups in this nut but the fix is the same. Rplace the bottom o ring. On one of the set ups it has a small cover dont lose it the o ring is under this cover

How do you bleed the clutch on a 1999 Kia Sportage

You will need to locate the clutch slave cylinder/concentric slave bleed screw usually visable. You will need brake fluid, bleed bottle, correct spanner to slacken off bleed screw, top up clutch fluid resevoir, fit pipe to bleed screw get someone to press down clutch as u open bleed screw watch for air and the tighten do this till no more air is visible in the pipe. Remember to keep reservoir topped up.

Im losing brake fluid in my resivor as fast as i put it in what could be the problem? its a 1999 kia sportage

well, if fluid is going down. then you have a leak. either in the brake lines or a bad wheel cylinder. if you can not see the leak. have someone push on brake while you look under the car. if the lines you will see it spray out. but if you do not see anything check for brake fluid on the inside of back wheels if it has drum brakes in the back, this means a brake cylinder is bad.

Loosing brake fluid weekly, moisture seen on booster, no leaks on any cylinders? what could it be?

if brake fluid is on the booster the master cylinder is leaking. check your rear wheel cylinders by removing the rear drums, basically trace all your vrake lines anfd inspect for leaks.

Brake fluid resivoir emptied out in 2 days and all calipers and drums are good. Is the resivoir bad or the master cylinder bad?

if there is no leaks that you can find, then the master cylinder must be leaking into the power brake booster. replace the master cylinder

Where do you put clutch fluid in - in a 2001 Kia Sportage

Under the hood next to the brake reservoir, is a smaller fluid tank with brake fluid in it. It is the clutch master cyl. Hope this helps.

1997 kia sportage clutch adjustment

The clutch is a fluid clutch. The only adjustment is to make sure the fluid is full. The ones I have worked on use a combined resoveir that holds brake fluid for both the brakes and the clutch system. So check the fluid in your master cylinder.

NO Brakes abs and brake lite on 96 sportage

Hi:
If your brakes do not work, the lights that are on are supposed to be on . First , do not drive the car!, Check under the hood to see if the brake fluid is low or empty. If it is low or empty, you have a brake system leak. Check the back side of each wheel and look for wetness or fluid leakage. If you don't see anything, or the brake reservoir is still full, it could be a master cylinder fail , so get your car towed somewhere to get the brakes repaired!

Losing brake fluid(2001 kia sportage)

Check the rear wheel cylinders if you have drum brakes on the rear. Check the master cylinder cap to be sure it's on right & snug. Use D.O.T. 3 fluid, not synthetic. If you're losing fluid there's a reason. Check the front brake pads & slides for the calipers, could be frozen with rust & eating up the pads. Fluid would seem low if the pads are shot.

Kia brake prob.

Do you see more smoke than normal from the exhaust?
Check the floor mats on the drivers side for brake fluid, it could be leaking from the master cylinder where the brake pedal connects.
