I cannot locate the power steering reservoir in 2007 Buick LaCrosse CXL Sedan. I hear this whine, everyone tries to tell me it's normal, but it sounds like power steering. I can't locate it and the manual isn't for the 3.8 V6 engine. This concerns me because I get my oil changed about every 6 wks and they say it's filled, but I constantly hear this whining

Hello takinitlite,

The power steering pump is on the right-side(passenger side)of the engine compartment between the engine and firewall.

See image below circled in red.

I had the same problem on used 2007 LaCrosse I recently purchased for my daughters. Found this on Bing and answered my question perfectly. Thanks!

The whine people hear is because it's torque converter vane ends aren't fully covered. Your dipstick will read, but if you add 1 fluid oz and remove it your dipstick will still read full. I add a little at a time and check the dipstick each time, I'm not overdoing it. It takes 2 or 3 tries to get it right depending on the reason for low level in the first place. For me that is driving the car in 1st gear straight down a mountain (it burns) or having it back flushed and filled.

Try a C clamp. Don't forget to put a rag around the brake fluid reservoir, since you will be forcing fluid back into it, likely causing it to spill over.
