My mother has a 1997 hyundai accent which has run very nicely for over ten years only recently has it begun to give trouble due to its immoboliser I am a qualifed sound technician and have auto electrical experience but cant obtain wiring diagrams to bypass the circuit. Could you help
these immobilisers on hyundai are a chip installation in key ? considering age of car and use of ign key it may well be the worne key ist causing intermitant problem ? ask mother did she get either another ign master key or a tag with the key code number stamped on it for obtaining a replacement key with the car ? as with each new hyundai you get 2x keys and either one of the above with all documents/handbooks etc try hyundai main office b4 you consider trying to cut out immobiliser? this would affect your insurance if it is stolen and found to not have working immobiliser

AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON
look to see if you can adjust your seat belt pretensioner to better suit your height. look at the top of your seat belt- ( driver's side up and to the left of your left shoulder ) and see that you can very easily slide up or down your seat belt pretensioner. you are actually supposed to do this and even redo it if you ever readjustt your seat up or down or forward or backwards. believe it or not, your safety airbag light will come on automatically until you adjust your seat belt pretenioner in a way that the sensors read your seat belt to be safely set. naturally, if someone else drives the car he or she might have to readjust the seat belt pretensioner for the sensors to read them as being safely put. do this and the airbag warning light should go out.

I am going to begin work on a 2000 Hyundai Elantra over the weekend. Before getting into it I am gathering as much information as possible as I am trying to spend the mininum amount of money. If I can fix the problem by using fuel system cleaner, or replacing a fuse, filter, or relay that would be great. If I have to spend the hundred and a half to get a new fuel pump then so be it, but I don't want to take that step until necessary. I can't get the car to my local AutoZone to have the codes checked as it dies every 10 miles. Car starts after sitting for a while, then dies whether just idling, or being driven. I know it sometimes takes money to fix our problems but we are running on a very tight budget along with the rest of the country. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm your SAVIOR!.. hehehe... go to http://www.hmaservice.com/ and register (vehicle VIN) and you'll have access to all the info you want (manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc.)
Don't forget to RATE my response to you... thanks.

Hello
I've been struggling all day trying to remove the door panel from a 1997 Hyundai accent to repair my outside door handle.
I've managed to get the window crank (after lots and lots of effort) off, all screws and pulled all tabs around the panel edge. Also removed the mirror cover and door lock.
Problem is the inside handle. I can't get the panel off because the handle seems to still be very securely attached to something and won't budge. I've taken the screw out of the handle and I don't think the rods should be holding it that tight. I'm afraid to pull on it too hard because I don't want to break the handle or any rods or clips on the mechanism in the door.
What am I doing wrong? Why won't the handle come loose? Is there a tab on the other side of the handle holding it on? Will it give way with a little pressure?
Please help. I'd appreciate it so much.
Look under the round part of the handle, see if there is a small allen screw there,if it is unscrew it until the handle comes off.if not send a new message
