In the last week i have filled the coolant reserve
hi, if your 100% sure that their is no coolant leaking onto the floor then look inside the car where the drivers and passenger feet are if the floor is wet then this means the heater rad is leaking and needs replacing if its dry then this could be a more serious problem now what you need to do is check your oil pull the oil stick out and check for signs of water if water is present then it will look a grey color and this would mean head gasket failure if how ever the oil level is ok and the color is normal then this could indicate that the head gasket has gone and the coolant is being burned out with the engine gasses, you need to get a compression test done and possibly a sniff test to test the coolant for signs of gasses from the engine.
Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

1994 volvo 850 wont start
Well if the engine is turning over while trying to start but won't, going to have to start with the basics. If the engine light is on when she does run check for codes and see what they are and repost or have someone look at it with a scan tool at a garage. If no codes are present or none that are relavent then Start by checking the spark to the plugs with a spark tester, the adjustable gap kind are best but inline would be ok. if you got spark, check for fuel while cranking of course, (you could smell it out the tail pipe), or remove plugs and see a small spray coming out as the engine is cranking (be careful with this as these are not appropriate tests and you are dealing with fuel, explosive and dangerous to breathe). Don't crank too much as this can wash the cylinders down. if the cylinders get washed down you will need to put some oil in each cylinder just a little, to rebuild compression. If fuel is present in the cylinders while cranking, and you say you have good fuel pressure then will need to ensure compression and timing, and if all these are good, you will have to check for problems with wiring and electronically controlled grounds, etc. You may want to seek some help on these if you are unsure how to continue on with voltage drop tests, and resistance, but maybe you can. I hope this helps and if you have anymore info on the vehicle like test values etc, or need more help, just post back. good luck

2005 v50engine light is on. They told us that the
I don't think it's covered under warranty because it is not a mechanical part. But that is a very high price for a breather hose. Have you tried a junk yard or online store instead. Like autozone.com or partstrain.com. Seems overly priced to me.

93 volvo 850 glt changed the fuel pump now car
Check your fuel pressure to ensure proper pressure to the block, also did you replace the fuel filter.
On a side note: 3 things a automobile needs to run
AIR-make sure you have a clean air filter and your MAF (mass air flow sensor is plugged in) if you pulled your breather to innspect anything, there is a possibility that it came unplugged or you unpluged it and forgot to hook it back up, a car wont start without it being plugged in if equiped
SPARK-Make sure your car has juice to the plugs, if the plug doesnt fire the car wont run, if you have to pull each plug and ground them to the engine block to see if they arch. If not trace the problem down (if you changed the fuel pump you have some mechanical skill and should be able to troubleshoot a spark issue)
FUEL-Check for proper pressure, dirty fuel filter(s) and if your system has a return line, make sure your hoses didnt get crossed cause this will damage the engine and regulator.
Hope this helps Thanks for using Fixya.com

My Volvo's windshield wipers just
You could try just tightening the nuts that hold your wipers. I'm no expert but I know the wipers on volvos are made to loosen them selves up if they get stuck on anything (like ice) so they wont break something more expensive.

The blower motor whines,is slow to start up or doesn't run at all
The sad news is that the new motor will probably whine also. The best way to fix the whine is to use the switch to select different speeds. It is is whining at one speed, it usually will not whine at a different speed, at least for a while, or until you turn a corner.
Speed issues are usually related to the switches resistor pack which is easy to replace.
