1991 Cadillac DeVille - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
My 1991 cadillac deville idles ok sometimes, then
why would you have the brakes checked if your engine is running poorly. the engine while running makes vacuum and if that is not running correctly it will effect other systems. brakes for one work of a vacuum booster. so no vacuum sure the brake pedal will be hard to work. you will want to pull the plugs and test the compression of all the cylinders and write them down and compare that numbers first. my guess you have some bad valve issue or what they call blow bye and losing compression on 1 or more pistons. which may need to remove the heads and rebuild or replace. or even replace the engine all together depending on whats wrong. start with a compression test and go from there.
Cadillac Deville 2000 Window went down but fails to go back up
first of all try driver master switch then try back door switch
cut on dome light and press button if it is working lights will dim if they do not dim most likly the motor is going bad give it a sharp rap might bring it back up if motor is good you may need a regulator for the window
New battery, completely drains while car not used
The charging system is doing its job It seems to have an electrical short which is draining the batt. If u have the know how to ck & repair electrical shorts then go after it, if not, take it in.
I have a 91 Cadillac Deville that will not start.
Try turning the key to the on position and wait for the security light to stop flashing (usually ten or fifteen minutes) then turn the key off and try to start it. On some you need to do that procedure three times without starting but most will re-start after doing it once. Usually this will work to re-set security on GM vehicles.

Engine won't fire
It needs spark, too... Not sure if you have a coil/distributor, or something more modern. I would follow the plug wires back and see what they're connected to.
Makes trobbing grinding noise when turning left
It could be a bad wheel bearing, and if so it probably is the passenger side, but check them both sides. Raise both wheels off the ground, or one at a time, and rock the wheel back and forth and up and down. The side with the bad bearing will have a lot more play in it.
To replace, the wheel "hub" with sealed bearing inside is replaced. The hub is bolted to the wheel knuckle, which supports the hub, the CV joint and axle shaft, the brake caliper and rotor, and the wheel itself. If you are experienced at car repair and have the proper tools, you can do it yourself. At a shop, expect a 2-4 hour labor bill, maybe under 2 hours if everything comes off easily. The cost of the hub and sealed bearing is probably less than $100, although prices can vary greatly.
I have a 91 cadilac sedandeville 4.9 its skips real bad whats the problem
When you say it skips, should I presume you mean the engine lopes.? more information would help... Perhaps it sounds like it is doing this at idle, or when stopped in gear foot on brake or while driving.... It could be as simple as you having a loose spark plug wire, so lets start there, go push each wire onto their connection at both ends and check back and let us know more of whats happening, or if that fixed it
