It is located under the timing belt cover on the oil pump.

That happened to me when my tranny went out. did it intermittently for two weeks when all of a sudden if felt like i was driving with one gear, then it wouldn't go anywhere. It failed on me @ 99,731 miles. so it was covered under warranty. Good luck.

some cars it a sep. unit all newer cars its in the PCM the wiring is in the fSM and at alldata.com with more power processors, they now have room for TCM code in PCM. many cars about 1997. post symptom.. ?

This sounds like a bad relay, you will need to locate the cooling fan relays and replace them, some cars have one or two, the other thing may be the coolant fan switch, hard to say which one is bad, if its relays or switch with out checking it,These cars are designed to run fans after engine shut down to help in cooling them down, so one relay runs normal operation and the other runs the key off operation. or it may have two sensors that work like the relays and inturn will have one relay per fan.A good test would be to start the engine with A/C off and see if the fan runs, or if it is off and turns on after it gets hot and then stays on. from what you wrote it sounds like the fans are on all the time,

It is probably the starter. It is possibly even loose. Check the bolts holding it on. If they're tight, you may have a bad starter gear( not official name!). The starter has a gear that is thrown out and connects with the flywheel gears. If the bolts are tight, put up on ramp and have somebody turn the starter while you lay underneath and watch and listen to the starter.

Buy a siphon kit at your local auto parts store remove as much as you can.

Most likely the problem with the gear shift not moving is because the little screw in the side of the grip handle is either out or in too tight. If you can lift the handle off the shifter rod you lost the little screw, it is needed to engage the drive shaft.

There is a block drain, a 17mm socket is used. I believe it is behind the exhaust manifold. The plug has very fine threads, be careful when reinstalling it.
