2004 Lexus RX330 Battery Replacement
You just had to disconnect the negative off the old battery first. Then you disconnect the positive and it happens to touch metal it won't short anything out. Make sure you can not wiggle the cables, that the connectors at the battery can't spin or move at all. Tighten them more if necessary, try to start it. Let me know if you still have problems.

Make sure the connections are good at the battery and starter. Make sure the new battery is fully charged. It should read at least 13-14 volts. Just because lights come on doesn't mean the connection is good enough to start the engine nor does it mean there is enough charge to start the engine. The only other thing it would likely be is the starter solenoid itself. Kind of doubt it on an '04 Lex though.
