Does a1999 ford escort with 75,000 miles on it need a tuneup?

If it isn't broken don't fix it! No it does not need servicing, just make sure all you're fluids are at the proper level, tune was used mostly for car with carburators, you have fuel injection and electronic distributor, it will either woek or not Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/tony_a41fa0b801734e2f

What happens to the engine when it jumps timing

Interference engine (when out of time, any valve fully depressed can be struck by a piston when piston is at or near top of stroke). Damage can be quite severe depending on how far past maximum valve depression the piston travels. It can simply bend the valve heads or worst case; break head from stem. Your description unfortunately strikes of the latter. Sorry for the bad news. Usually one can get by with head/valve repair, but piston tops must be carefully inspected too.

Can i tow a1999 automatic ford escort with tow bar

It is not advisable to do so as you could damage the front of your car because the tow bar is normally used on bigger cars. Having the correct towing accessories is essential so make sure to get either hooks or wires which you can use and not damage your car.

How do i check the starter

When you say the engine cranks, do you mean the engine turns over but does not start? If that is the case I don't think you have a starter problem. The starter turns the engine so it sound OK. If it is turning slowly it could be a weak batter or starter. If in doubt you can remove the starter and take it to an auto part store like Auto Zone or Advance auto.

I would take it to a parts store to figure out what the trouble code is.Most of them will scan your car for free. That is always a good place to start.

My care makes a tapping sound after i get it to facctory running tempwhat can it be

I would try to pinpoint the noise using a mechanic stethoscope. Most of the time high tapping noises come from upper engine components. Valves, lifters, Camshaft etc.
