You still have many other components in that system that has to be in working order for the cooling fan to work properly. The cooling fan is turned on when engine temp reaches a predetermined temp, usually around 220-230 degrees F. the ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor siganls the ECM (Engine Control Module) to ground the cooling fan relay or cooling fan module(if equipped) and if the cooling fan fuse is good and the fan has power to it the realy will complete the ground for the fan to run. You may need to have a qualified technician diagnose the problem if the obvious things like fuses and good grounds are not the problem. Hope this helps.

If you are lucky then it will be a tab stuck on the fins of the radiator near the top tank probably on the front.. It may be as a bar code on the top tank

od light flashing indicates trans problem, run scanner on system to diagnos area to check

scan comp for trouble codes, proceed from there

You have to turn the adjuster in so that the shoes are as close as possible.

timing light is not needed for this vehicle, to new. it is electronically controlled. what engine is in it- 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder and what is the car doing.

What have you checked so far ?

you need anti freeze not just water. water will cause it to over heat. there is a over flow tank on the passeger side front fender check the level
