The cover to the fuse box is missing and I need a diagram telling me what fuse goes to what (dome light, etc).
do a google search and that should tell you where to get one from or try a junkyard or maybe the ford company can help.

Had a new timing chain installed and shortly afterward, speedometer, odometer, and gas gage quit working. Fuses have been checked but all fuses are good. Is there a plug arround timing chain cover and where is it?
check the relay for the dash gauges.

I'm geting an P1131 engine code on my Ford Contour with the 2.5 liter V-6 24 valve DOHC. Ford replaced the intake manifold gasket but the code returned. Could it be the PVC valve and if so were is it located??
#10 is the PCV valve.

99 ford contour 2.0 dohc timing belt replacement... i have the alignment tool and blanking plug but which way are the cams turned to align?
Engine Timing Belt/Chain Illustration
Figure 1
Before installing tool. If the belt broke turn the engine so the #1 piston is half way up. This way you will not bend the valves while turning cams. If you feel that the cams are very hard to turn or stops turning then turn crank by hand to lower piston away from valve. Then turn the cams clockwise or counter clockwise slow one at a time too the proper slot position for the tool to fit. Once the cam marks are lined up bring the #1 piston to its TDC.

need the timing marks for 99 ford contour
There are no marks. You need to remove #1 spark plug. Bring the piston up on TDC (all the way up). Then remove valve cover. On the drivers side of the camshafts you will see a slot ground into the ends. The slots are off center of the camshft. There is a tool to fit into the slots tieing both cams at the same time. Once the tool is installed and the #1 piston was up before you locked the cams you can remove the T-belt for replacement & water pump replacement.

where is the Thermostat for 1999 ford contour located
On the 4 cylinder 2.0 L the thermostat is located where the upper Radiator hose and the recovery tank hose connect to the housing on the block. Disconnect the Neg (-) (Black) terminal. Drain and recycle the coolant, remove the air intake resonator, the recovery and upper hoses. remove the three bolts to the housing, remove the thermostat and )-ring (important, replace the O ring with your new thermostat. re assemble as you have taken apart. tork the bolts to 71-97 inch lbs on the 6 cylinder 2.5 L the process is similar, except there are only two bolts on the housing, tork the bolts after you have installed the new one to 15-22 ft lbs. I hope this solves your issue, thanks
