I'd have to make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections good. Sometimes if vehicle is hard to start, people run the battery down? We can't do any testing if battery is down. Use a digital mutimeter across battery posts, everything off. The generic spec for a full charge is around 12.6 volts. Leave the meter leads touching the battery posts, have helper turn key to crank, the reading shouldn't drop below 9 volts, That reading may vary a little from one vehicle to another. Some say 9.6 volts, some say ten, you get the picture. How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? Does it backfire out the exhaust or intake? I'd want to check fuel trims, see if anything shows up? As far as hydrostatic lock, pull the spark plugs, see if any fluid comes out?

No , pulling the fuel tank out of the car is the only way .

The ignition module is the brains of the ignition spark system. If it is going bad, usually the most common type of problem is a stalling situation/no start until the module cools down and then may restart. Sometimes the modules fail and the engine will not start. It can also give the problem of the engine misfiring.

96 to 99. 3.1 and 3.4 engines work. You can go higher on years, but will have to change brackets and sensors. Up to 03 I believe. Main thing you need to watch for is the crank sensor.

The top escutcheon unscrews, and there are two or three screws retaining the power antenna assembly to the fender. Unscrew the escutcheon and remove the screws, then the antenna drops down. (Note that the antenna must be retracted to remove, otherwise you will have to cut the aerial off to get it out.) If you have a fixed antenna, it simply unscrews at the base.

the dangling wires go to the canister control valve on the charcoal canister. this is unlikely to be all of your problem. the fuel pump on this model is in the fuel tank and is usually the culprit in this scenario

The best and only procedure I recommend is remarking and removing the tank for a good cleaning. Water in the tank usually means that other contaminants such as rust are also present. Don't take any chances. Do it right the first time. Good luck, Vinnie

It COULD be a shift solenoid. It COULD be from being over filled. I also ran across a GM car one time that would only go into reverse but not forward. Dropped the transmission pan and the filter was almost completely plugged. Changed the filter and fluid and all was well from then on. So it COULD be a dirty filter. Hope this helps.

You don't have to pull it to replace the TCC. Remove the pan and you can access the TCC solenoid.
