Is the check engine light on now ? And if it is, have you checked for trouble codes ?

check the coil first. if ok you need a spark plug tester to do the tests, then remove the leads at the plug put in your tester check for spark if not found check and clean the contacts on your distributor cap and rotor arm. test again for spark at the spark plug leads if ok remove the plugs one at a time .smell for fuel if this is found change the plugs.

you can get a replacement remote on Ebay for 20-30 bucks, used but they should work. Or go get one at the nissan dealer, if you start disabling the security system you will run into all kinds of things not working or not working right, And ur security system should automatically work with ur key. Go chk it out on You Tube,

I have a maxima 1996 and when I lock doors with fob control, and sun roof is open, it will close along with doors. Try this way. Also check fuses under dash and sunroof relay.

There's usually a bolt on the front of the pulley.

Its cold! is it like polluting excessive? If the exhaust smoke is white its normal especially on a older car. Have you ever gone outside in real cold weather and when you breathe you can see the steam pretty much same thing. As long as the car is running the same then its more likely to be from the cold. Good idea may be to let your car thoroughly warm up before you drive off in cold weather.

did you try turning the dial just to the right of the steering column on the dash? Just askin.

the wire that goes into the console gets worn and breaks after so many times shifting...check for a break in the wire coming from the button and follow it...bet u find a break.

check your MAF sensor first..thats what it was on my 4th generation Maxima after tearing down the whole tbi system and what not....just pull out the sensor itself and clean it up, see if thats it, if not....idle control valve probably. or wiring.

yes...they come factory with ABS, so it DOES have ABS

check ur MAF sensor (Mass Air Flow) make sure there is no condensation rust on it, just a little bit will cause it to malfunction...soft brush on the sensor itself to clean it up..try that, worked for me.

I read somewhere I believe in Maxima Forums if you turn the ignition key to the ON position...not starting the car, and leave it on for ten minutes minimum without touching anything it will reset itself. Worth a shot.

park ur car facing uphill with the radiator cap off...gravity will work the air pockets out (with ur motor running) (but take the radiator cap off before it gets hot) that should take care of it. just keep filling it till the air is out.
