Rock the steering wheel back and forth as you gently try to turn the key. Could also be the ignition is worn - also try the same with the key flipped over. A tiny spray of WD40 in the ignition would be the next thing I'd try.

The set on the passager side of my 88 420SEL wont move up, and it make a noise about every 15sec like it is trying to move.

First off, its a 420SEL, there is no 240SEL that year.
Remove the factory alarm.
1) remove the passenger side floormats 2) unscrew the 10mm nut securing the kick panel to the firewall. 3) locate the black box that says "becker autoradio" on it. 4) unplug both cable harnesses from the box 5) remove the box (optional)
Put the kick panel and rugs back and you are done! Should take 10 minutes.

You could try connecting a battery charger to the generator's output terminal since the battery is connected directly to it. Be extra careful not to short that connection to ground (chassis of the vehicle)! After the battery has been charged enough, use your remote or the button for unlocking the trunk. You may also look up for a large positive terminal in the engine compartment and connect the charger there. Good lick and post the results here.
