After removing the 2 screws take a soft rag and fold it over a small pry bar or screw driver and wedge it int the front of the housing closest to the front of the car and pry towards the rear DO NOT PRY TOWARDS THE FRONT be car full not to damage paint be gentle but firm it will come out they do make plastic pry tools the help with causing damage to paint or plastic but with a rag and a screw driver you can persuade it

Depends on if the heater is working and the hot air is not going thru the vents, or the heater core is not hot.Could be a faulty blend door under the dash.

Usually a sign one or both of the hydraulic supports have failed.

One or both of the hydraulic supports the hatch has lost pressure, you should have them tested (or you can take them off and test them yourself) and replace whichever unit/s has failed.
