If blower motor resistor was replaced, make sure all connections are tight and well plugged in. I would supply direct powerr and ground to the blower motor to see if it works. It still sounds like a resistor issue

You need to check for diagnostic codes on your cars computer and clear them before the check engine light will go out. Any codes you get will most likely lead you to what is causing your car to backfire. You can buy a code reader for 60 bucks at any parts store. It plugs in right under the dash on the drivers side next to the the left hand side of the steering column.

A good scan tool that will read ABS codes should give a clue. Most common failure is wheel sensor, but the ABS pumps do fail as well. The scanner should point to which part is bad. Some parts stores have a good enough scanner to read ABS codes. Ask them.
