Oil filter housing

Not a good idea to get the wrong one, even worse to use the wrong one. Are you referring to the thread on part connected to the engine or to the oil filter itself ?...

I have a 2006 BMW

Sounds like its missing on one cylinder. Could be a failed plug or a blocked injector, or something more serious.

Call your dealer, who will likely suggest that you bring or more likely tow the car to them.

The dealer can scan the ECU for a fault code which will point to an accurate diagnosis.

How to rest the oil light for X5 ?

simple, but you will need to reset the vehicles computer! if you have to insert a code to reprogram your radio, make sure you have the code handy, look for code in glove box panel, if needed, or if not, just disconnect the positive cable of your battery for 10mins. this will reset the computer and make the light go off.if your light comes back on, you have further issues. before you do this!!please just check your oil level to make sure the computer is telling you that your oil level is low!!thank you for choosing fixya.com!!

Microfilter

The microfilter is an electrostatically charged filter that captures dust and pollen particles (down to 5 microns) that normally are drawn into the passenger compartment through the ventilation system. It is similar to the filter that you have in your home AC unit. Just like your house filter your BMW's microfilter should be changed also. The recommended interval is at every inspection #1 and #2. However, if your AC smells musty or you have decreased blower fan volume change it sooner.

I have a 08 550i

Hello Rob.

Is the check engine light on?
There must be a sensor not reading correctly.
You will likely need to have it hooked up to a scanner capable of reading the data from the various sensors to find out which one is causing the hesitation.
Mass airflow, throttle position and accelerator pedal position are the first ones I would be suspicious of. While there could be other sensors involved these affect fuel/air ratio control more than others.

Cars have become essentially computer controlled with inputs from the driver and difficult to diagnose without the proper equipment.
This situation will be very difficult to assist you without this information.
I would like to have had a more definitive answer for you.
Thank you for using FixYa.

The rims of the tires

Wow, this is an unusual problem. What year? Factory wheels or aftermarket? Tire size? Are the tires losing air pressure so that the rims are 'slashing the tires?' Are the rims cutting through the side walls of the tires? How many or the tires did this happen to and how many times??
