2006 malibu no brake/blinker lights

With that loose wire with tape on it it sounds like an add-on alarm may have been installed at one time, which would tie into the brake lights to make them flash when alarm goes off. Maybe those places that install these alarms may be able to figure the wiring out and put it back to 'normal'.

When the car sit over night and it cold outside. The next morning the engine power power light come on and it take the car 1hour to warm up.

The best and best approach to warm up an car on a cool winter morning is to introduce an electric motor radiator together with an inside warmer. I have this introduced in my auto and it's truly a gift to jump in a pre-warmed auto not scraping the ice and snow on the windshield, windows and back window each morning. I should do nothing more than module the radiator in a divider contact with a clock (30 minutes to 1 hour will do) and voila - the auto is prepared for use! I'm appending the connection of the 2 driving organizations who fabricate and offer this hardware. I exceptionally recommend these items. It won't just give you warm solace, yet it likewise fulfills the motor by minimizing motor wear because of various cool begins, and also sparing nature. 06 malibu. 2.2 starter wont engage and steering wheel wont lock.

You can't even hope to diagnose this type problem without knowing how it works . The starting system is all computer controlled ,turning the key to the start position sends a voltage signal to a control module . The BCM or PCM ,the module will send a message to the PCM on GMLAN serial data buss , the PCM will energize a relay by suppling a ground which will send B+ voltage to the solenoid on the starter . The PCM will do that if it see the transmission is in park or neutral and not anti-theft system problem . Hooking up a factory scan tool is the first step in diagnosing this . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

I am losing about 1/2 pint coolant every 1000 miles. the vehicle does not ovrheat at all.

check sump oil color If grey that is coolant into the sump , probably from behind the water pump impeller because water loss is not evident the fact that there is loss means that there is a leak some where There is a drain hole under the water pump housing and if the seal is gone the water will leak out there under pressure and when operating and the coolant is lost in the air stream Take it to an accredited radiator shop and have the system pressure tested

In gear idle tries to go up to around 4000rpm without stepping on the gas, won't idle down till I step on brakes, way slow acceleration, Traction control off light is on, check engine light on

Something could be wrong withthe idle circuit or air cleaner not installed properly. Need to check engine code first, also heck for vacum leak listen for air escapeing.

There is no power to auxilary power ports, how can this item be repaired?

The answer is simple its a 1 wire system works just like the cigarette lighter and on the same circuit. You plug your device or what ever in to the port .The sides are the ground the contact point is the middle is HOT dc power . The problem is the ground wire no ground no DC current . Their is no fuse just the ground dosn't need a fuse . The problem is you have to get at the back of the port witch is inside of the dashboard. But its low so if you can crawl under the dash and repair there or run a jumper wire from a ground IE any peice of metal mounted to the body of the vehicle it should work again

Can headlight lens be cleaned or does the whole assembly have to be replaced?

You can buy kits to clean them. If the lens' are easily accessible you should be able to. If they have trims around them it can still be done on the car, but removing them would do a much better job.

Trouble shoot ac not coming on

The compressor may be locked up. If the middle (where the belt attaches to the compressor) is spinning when the air conditioning is on then it is free and may just need to be charged or drain the existing refrigerant and charge with new refrigerant as the old may have air mixed in causing terrible hear transfer not allowing the chilling of air through the radiator to take place. If the compressor dies not spin, it is locked up and needs replaced. Abb easy way to find the compressor is to follow the small (in diameter) silver piping going through your engine bay towards your firewall (cabin of vehicle). 2 plastic caps, what looks like plastic wire nuts, will be on 2 separate pieces of this piping as well.

Why is my engine temperature guage working and then not working ?

Perhaps the culprit is a faulty sending unit. Try having it replaced and see what happens. If you can do it yourself, so much the better... assuming that you know what you're doing.
