I have a Spirit SR-918

We also have a Spirit SR 918. It may be the lower or upper boards powering the motor that malfunctioned.

We need a particular part replaced on it, other than those boards, so if you still have not trashed the unit, have replaced it, or are thinking about disposing of the unit, we will pick it up. We are in Chicago, as well.

It will cost us between $125 to $499 to replace our treadmill, but it is so heavy duty, that it comes down to finding the parts, since additional labor will come out even.

E1 error on display

E1 code means an elevation problem but I am not familiar with the new Spirit models. Been trying to set up with Spirit now that I am getting calls on them again. Its been 5 years since my last call, best thing to do is get in contact with Spirit and they will direct you on what to do or give you phone # to call a service provider. The older units had a calibration sequence for such a problem.

hi,

ERR 05 always means speed sensor problem. If it is defective or loose contact will always cause this issue. The sensor controls the pulley belt to rotate. So your treadmill is not working.
You need to pull the cover off. Check for burned wire or short circuit on the board and loose sockets.
Use multimeter to test the sensor.

I have common service Treadmills manual.Use it for having some idea.

I have a Spirit 2800

There is a red reset button that should be located at the front lower portion of your tread mill, if that doesnt work the front cover(power cord unplugged from the wall outlet) comes off with a few screws to reveal the wiring switch circuitry, which should reveal what has gone array, have this tested by a licensed electrical repairmen who has his own liability insurance in case he gets hurt while in your home.

Machine shuts off when i press incline up. Belt and board look ok

THis sounds like a controller board problem. In many of the treadmills I have seen the same board controls the drive motor and the incline motor. If this product is under warranty have the company covering the warranty check it out. Anytime you buy one of these machines buy the extenced warranty. I was a field service tech for a warranty company. When you call in with a problem make it sound severe.. I have replace almost everything in one except the frame just to make a customer happy. I am not sure of the error message but i seem to remember it being associated with the controller.

Treadmill powers off when pressing Incline Increase "br 1" error

You may have a beltand deck problem. Test by the following procedure:
without the poweron stand on the walking belt, push the belt in the, direction it normally turns. If the belt is very difficult to turn (on most treadmill this means that you have high belt/deck friction I first apply silicone lubricant between the belt & deck to see if that clears up the problem. Most problems originate from the belt and deck 75 to 85% of the time
