Sigma EF-530 DG ST - not working, on test or camera all 6 LED lights displaying. Any thoughts?
I don’t usually play with flash that isn’t built in- I prefer natural light, but...if this were me I would: A) take very fine sandpaper and very lightly go one time over all contacts for the flash and camera. B) I would also see if my button batteries in my camera needed changing. As I remember they have something to do with recognizing lenses and flash attachments. C) I would also make sure the batteries in the flash, although changed, were making proper contact with the battery terminals and might also lightly sand those as well since the flash is little used.
My sigma 170-500mm used on canon takes one shot
I have this lens on my Pentax K3 and have never had a problem with it.
The sensor is in the camera body not the lens so look in your camera manual for how to clean that. There will be a command in the cameras menu, maybe in setup.
If that is not enough then go into the menu and lock the mirror up and clean out manually with a cotton bud with a drop of alcohol, methylated spirits. Be very gentle doing this.
Also clean the electrical contacts on lens mount, both lens and camera.
Test the camera now.
If it works then job done, if not then you have more serious problem and its time to take it to a camera repair tech.
I have a 28-200 sigma
If you take it to pieces, you will end up with a (hopefully complete) kit of parts which you will have to pay a repairer to re-assemble for you. Your choice.
