Sounds to me like the fan is running in the wrong directions and not cooling the motor as intended.
Reverse your wires to to reverse the rotation of the fan motor and make sure it is pushing air over the motor to keep it cool while running.

the motor is working too hard or the power source is not adequate or you are using a extension cord never use a extension cord for a air compressor you will destroy the motor over time use longer hose and plug it in to the outlet directly

Replace the check valve where the tube goes into the tank. Common problem.

Another way is to get a spray can of belt dressing and spray it on to the belt faces once it is in action

The motor will run hot/overload if wrong size or too long cord is used. Also if pressure is set too high (most set at 125 ~ 135 at shut-off). In-tank checkvalve will also have effect on motor by loading the compressor at start-up. Easy test. Run compessor till you have over 100lbs in tank then unplug from power. At this point try to turn the motor /pump by hand, it should turn rather/very easily (this test is hard to do if the motor /pump is completely enclosed, you need to be able to turn the pump even if by truning the fan blade). If it does not turn easily let all the air pressure out of tank and then try to turn by hand. If it turns easily with tank empty try one more test. Run compessor till the pressure switch turns it off. Then unplug machine and turn compessor again by hand, should be easy. If not easy then unloader / checkvalve not working. The checkvalve could be leaking air back from the tank loading the pump. Replace parts as needed.

With pressure in tank test for leak at the check valve. Follow the discharge line from the pump to the tank. There you will find the checkvalve (usually brass valve). If the check valve leaks the compressor will be under load when motor tries to start and will probably trip breaker. Look for reset button (red button )on the compressor motor and push-in to reset. With pressure in tank the motor /pump should turn freely by hand. If checkvalve good and unit turns freely, test capacitor for proper valve. It should test to within 95% of printed uf/mfd. Not being sure about this model but do you have the air hose connected to the tire vent and does it meet the minimum requirements? This may be the only way that the compressor can know how much pressure is in the tire and to start counting.
