Gently pull the arm back a little bit and it should start.

I take it that it doesn't turn? OK two choices for you. Faulty motor, or a on/off switch that doesn't work. If you have to move the arm to start the turntable then some kind of leaver switch is either bent or broken.
I should imagine this model uses no more than a 12 volt motor. If you have no look with the switch, find the motor and take it out. Then stick a 9 volt battery on it, or lower voltage if it's only 6 volt motor. If it don't go it's bust!

In some cases, when drive motors stand for a period of time, they tend to freeze up. The magnets can also loose their properties and the stator and rotor fail to operate normally. You may be able to break the rotor loose by splining the belt end with your fingers. Twist the spindle back and forth as it will not hurt the motors function. Also check to see if the electrical contacts are positive. If one wire is loose or the insulation cracked off, it could be shorting out. Using a Volt/Amp meter is necessary for a continuity test.

Could be two separate faults. First a switch that does not make contact when you move the arm. Then dirt on the CD lens. If you can hear sound from any other function it is unlikely to be an IC problem.

Looking at the picture I think it highly unlikely there is another motor. Arms are generally linked to a mechanical cog systems. Of course any of these can loose teeth, fracture, especially if the are abs plastic. That will cause all sorts of problems for the arm movement.

U positively sure the motor is actually burnt out? Not easy to burnout an induction motor and ................... If absolutely sure about the only thing you can do is see if unit is available on ebay. Often repair parts are there also.

What you need to do is look at the cartridge it fits in. It should have a make and model number on it. Put them into a Google search and the cartridge and Stylus should come up.

If it is BRAND NEW, obviously it's defective and you shouldn'n mess with it. Return it to the shop where you bought it and claim your warranty. Trying to "repair" it might VOID your warrant!

Most of these motors run on about 9 to 12 volts DC. You can connect a 9 volt battery to the terminals of the motor. Make certain the rest of the system is off and the motor power leads are not connected to the main system. If the motor doesn't turn with the battery it's faulty. If it does then you are perhaps looking at some switch that has failed or the power to the motor itself!
