Lost my pin to activate my phone
You will loose all store data doing this but you will get access to using the phone again. From the LG website:
1. Power down the phone then remove/reinsert the battery to ensure that the device is completely off
2. Press and hold the following keys for 10 seconds: Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button. Release all 3 keys when the Android Recovery Menu pops up
3. Press Volume Down to scroll down and highlight "wipe data/factory reset"
4. Press the Menu Button to select
5. Press Volume Down to scroll down and highlight "Yes - Delete All User Data".
6. Press the Menu Button to select
7. After data wipe is complete simply highlight "reboot system now" and select it by pressing the Menu Button.

My ringer suddenly stopped working. any suggestions. I am not new to smart phones and have tried the obvious
Go to settings it will be in the list of applications on the phone.
Go to sound setting
Check if in Silent mode
Also check for diversion settings on phone. You could have it diverting on all calls to a phone number that does not get answered.
You could check this one with the network provider to see if any diversions are set on your number.
Also check volume while ringing the phone they are usually on the left top side of phone press the volume control at the top to increase the volume.
Try searching on line for the user manual and download it and check it for probably causes of no ringing. The retailers assume everyone knows how to use a smart phone I had to download the user manual my first time of owning a smart phone. .
How do I receive pictures through text do I need internet
to receive text pictures, i mean the ones composed using alphabets in black and white screen, no internet is needed. but to receive the pictures in color, like the camera clicked, or phone clicked, you do need internet connection, that would again be a data connection or a wifi connection.
Download apps says not enough storage
Check to see where your downloaded apps are being stored. You probably have them going to your internal phone storage. If you haven't already, get a sd card and make it your default storage. Clear/move your apps from your phones internal memory to the sd card. Hope that helps!
Delete downloads on android
Dragging the app to the trash just remove it from the home screen. To uninstall an app from Android you can do so by opening PlayStore and going to My Apps, from scroll down to the apps that you want to uninstall.
Another way is to go to Settings>Apps, under the downloaded tab scroll down to the apps that you wan to uninstall, tap it, a new windows pop up, tap uninstall, and that is it.

How can I adjust the volume I can hardly hear person on other end
Does your phone not have an external volume rocker or volume buttons? You should also be able to adjust the volume from within the Android OS under "sounds".
If the volume is already at its max and you are still having difficulty, it may just be that your handset doesn't have a terribly good speaker in it, and there is nothing that can be done :(
