i have a ZTE straight talk phone. model Z990G. i can make calls and send text but i can't get my 3G or get on the internet. why

Maybe it's not meant to connect to macbook if so then there, or maybe it's either being done wrong or it's wireless is failing with other divices if it still makes calls then you might have just done something wrong.

The only other way is to take to a place that will flash the SIM card and reset the unit to default. Cost around 40 bucks.

for sending text messages :1.go to your message settings and check the message center number to see if it is correct2. call to your network operator customer care3. request the message center number...4.note it down5. go to message settings>message center number6. insert the number which is noted by you and save itthis solves your messaging problem ...Good luck
