As I understood it from a car I drove the hold light was a temporary electronic emergency brake that you pressed at traffic lights, that applied the brake until you pressed the gas pedal to pull away. Mazda have other ideas. It is a check engine light for the transmission.

Do you mean that your sunroof is stuck halfway and now won't open or shut correctly? This sounds like a normal setting with the roof half closed and the deflector at the front beginning to close. If it won't move from there first check the fuse but it would be smart to look for silly simple things like a piece of road debris stuck in one of the runners.
Usually it is a 3/8 stud and you should use a grade 8 nut. that way it will last, dont forget the gasket if it has one and be sure the area is clean from the old one
