Did u ever find out.mine is doing the same.ive searched everywhere and can't find an answer

Test with a different pan that you know for sure is working on induction. Some pans will fail working after awhile..beat me if i understand why. Normally, as far as i know induction cooking machines require IRON pans. Pure inox it DOESN'T work.

Try unplugging for 5 minutes

If you mean 'randomly HEAT', then I would suspect the control panel. There would be logic to detect the control touch and convert that into a signal to the controlling system that applies power. If the touch panel is faulty, it may signal for power intermittently.

If Shr (5hr) appears on the display then the cooktop is in showroom mode. To exit showroom mode the cooktop must be locked by pressing and holding the key symbol for 5 seconds. After the cooktop is locked, press and hold the melt touch pad for 5 seconds.

Your owner's manual should show how. No manual, try manualslib.com My old sears microwave light bulb is in the upper front left hand with bulb top up and socket down but behind a screen. There are screws to remove the upper fan apparatus, which appears to make the side available to extract the bulb. Probably a very special bulb, so I would get one before going to that trouble. It might also be the switch that is bad rather than the bulb. That probably requires removing the outer surrounding cover.

Its not the burner, but the switch or relay it controls. With a meter you can track it down an order the part yourself. Be sure to look for things like bugs. I found a bug in a clock that caused problems once. Becareful you are dealing with high voltage. If you are not sure call a tech.
