Yes, The piece that you load into the pump is round and the center white piece will spin in a circle. That piece is a valve that will turn and let liquid pass through. Fill your bag with formula or water and then use a knife or screwdriver to turn that plastic white piece. Turn it slowly until you see the formula pass through it. Be careful though as the formula will go pretty quick. Turn the plastic circle piece back to original position to stop the flow.

How old is your daughter?? Is she able to let you know if she aspirates on her feed?? i recommend hand feeding for safety. Her stomache could be full and causing the back flow. Her feedings may have to be reduced/spread out.
