Reset time on pocketwatch
Hi Tarynlarson,
Ok this can be done by GENTLY pulling out the crown till you hear or feel 2 clicks. Sometimes the crown has to unwound first, as you have not mentioned a specific model I am trying to be through.
Then you canjust rotate the crown and the hands should move and you can get it to the desired time.
When you have finished simply rescrew the crown back down.
Hope this helps?
Pocketwatch runs fast
Such a fast gaining usually is caused by dirty or magnetized hairspring, resulting in uneven coil amplitude (some of the coil rows are sticking together or touching each other). This causes the watch to run unbelievably fast.
To get the watch properly fixed you need to give to the watchmaker.
Alternetively; you can fix it yourself, but it will not last long.
For this you will need:
Case opener,
Dust blower (resin ball with nozzle),
Lighter fluid (ZIPPO),
Dropper (like one in eyedrops package).
Do as follows:
Open watch caseback,
Check for the fastest moving part in watch movement and you will see the hairspring fitted on it (pulsing outwards and inwards very fast).
Fill the VERY CLEAN dropper with lighter fluid.
Put ONE drop of lighter fluid on hairspring (DO NOT TOUCH IT),
Wait for a 10 seconds,
Dry out the lighter fluid with dust blower by vigorously squeezing it and pointing the nozzle on to hairspring from approx. 2-3 inches away.
Lay the watch on the table (dial down) and cover it with a clean, dustless cup. Leave for 15 minutes.
Fit the caseback on and enjoy your watch again.
Do not forget to rate, please.
My watch stop and it
Your watch needs to be clean,so that the old oil will be taken out,and change it with a new fresh oil.Old oil can caused the machine to stop,because old oil become sticky causing machine small gear stuck up and gear shafting can't move .
Hope it may help you;
Regards;

NOTE: The pusher buttons A, B & C are positioned on the watch at the 2 o'clock (A), 10 o'clock (B) & 8 o'clock positions (C), while the crown is at the 4 o'clock position.
1) Set the crown at the normal (in) position.
2) Push the B button twice.
3) Pull out the crown to the 2nd position (fully out).
a.) Seconds-hand setting: a push of button A moves the 2nd hand by 1 second. Move it until it is at the zero position.
b.) 2/100ths second hand: a push of button B moves the 2/100ths second hand by one 2/100ths second. A continuous push moves it quickly. Move it until it is at the zero position.
4) Push the crown back in to normal position.
QUICK-SET OF THE CALENDAR DATE
With the alarm switch off, pull out the crown halfway to the first "out" position (not fully out). Turn the crown clockwise to quick-set the date.
