I had a similar issue after being given a Denon DBP1161UD. I found a hint on another site and tried it... I unplugged the unit and waited until the red light stopped blinking. Then plugged it back in, went to the front of the unit and held down the play and skip forward buttons at the same time. Eventually a message came up on the screen with the model number, then it said 'no disc'. I released the buttons and it seems to be working.

Tuner section on receiver is fubar. No fuses specific to tuner.

Try checking the sound settings on your tv. You may want to change the output to PCI instead of dolby.
