Operating system,xp tablet edtion
I know it might not be...moral...but there are OEM ISO versions of XP Tablet Edition out there on bitorrent sites. Now I DO NOT CONDONE downloading one and using the Key supplied in the torrent, I simply am telling you a method to get your hands on an OEM Restore Disc from HP.
Your COA is located under your battery on your tablet. Use that COA in conjunction with the downloaded ISO to remain 100% legal.
Is there another way extra button to turn on my HP
You can actually short out the on/off circuit with a flat head screw driver. I have to do this until I can find somewhere to purchase a replacement sliding switch to attach to the new motherboard which I have waiting to be installed. Alternatively purchase a cheap docking station off ebay
I have the same problem with my TC1100
I do not know if this will help your situation any or not. I just posted this in a seperate threadI purchased a used TC1000 for $35 (I just couldn't help myself, despite what the owner state was happening).
It would power on, but no Compaq POST.
Toshiba taught me a simple trick when I was having issues with my X205 gaming laptop. Basically, remove all power sources (including battery). Hold the power slider to the on position for 25 - 30 seconds. Then power back up. You have to discharge whatever electricity is in the board/ps otherwise I believe the MoBo senses additional charge/not enough charge and refuses to boot.
I did this and have had 25 successful boots in a row.
"No supported wireless adapter available in this system" message
Hi Cynthia.
I will attempt to answer your questions. A BIOS cannot be disturbed with a virus,at least not that I know if since BIOS is on a different type of memory.Every piece of hardware attached to a computer needs software and drivers to work. You will need to download everything for what ever doesn't work now. You need to download the wireless adapter driver, for sure. The software is usually included . You will have to save it to a disk or a CD so that you can transfer it to your computer and install it. I hope this works for you.
Good luck.
Battery won't charge
Find a computer/electronics tech to solder the leads to the jack back on. I had to do that too. You just need to be careful if you, or they take it apart b/c the cable and leads are very delicate. I got it working and thought I missed something only to rip the video card out and need to buy a new motherboard on ebay, which is another idea for ya.
Forgot password
There's a couple things you can do first try this:
1. This one works for some windows computers
Restart your computer and enter safe mode by pressing F8 repeatedly while the computer is starting. Once prompted hit safe mode on your screen. Once inside go to Control Panel > User Accounts > and change the password on your account or remove it.
2. This one is if all else fails
If #1 doesn't work you can use this company -
www.loginrecovery.com
First download their software off the website and burn it onto a CD using Nero or another CD burning program. They have detailed instructions on the website as well as some free CD burning programs for download. Next Restart the PC and boot to the CD Drive. Next transcribe all the letters and numbers that appear on the screen to a piece of paper. Lastly enter the numbers and letters into the box on their website where you are prompted and they will tell you if the password is hackable. You can choose between free service which is 72 hours or expedited service which is $30 and 10 minutes. I've used them in the past and they work wonders for me!
Wireless won't work on my HP TC1100 tablet
also check the compaQ menu that is the hardware toggle to turn wireless on and off. there is no function keys like most laptops.
near where the power button is there is a button labeled Q. which will bring up a settings menu like an on scree display and that is where you toggle wireless hardware support on or off

Remove battrey from tc110
There is a switch on the back of the tablet to release the battery. On some tablets there is also one small philips screw holding it in
Multimedia audio controllr driver
You can try a manual Microsoft Update and choose "Custom" rather than Express and once the scan is done check and see if there's an additional hardware update that points to your Audio/Multimedia hardware.
Reset the bios on a compaq tc4200
I haven't tried it yet, but according to HP's "Maintenance and Service Guide" (Available in PDF from their Support website) you have to completely break down the computer, remove the mainboard and the CMOS battery should be located on its underside. Remove it for five minutes, replace and reassemble EXCEPT FOR BATTERY and turn it on under AC power only. I just purchased one that needs reset, but haven't received it yet, so I cannot attest to its effectiveness except that this is deirect from HP. Hope it helps!
