What do I need to do for my humidifier that leaks out the water

Install new water panels yearly. On the new panel make sure that the painted dot on the edge of the panel is on the top when you install it.
Always clean the distribution tray and the frame. Make sure the notch on the edge of the distribution tray faces away from the furnace. Make sure the humidifier was installed level. Keep the drain tube opening clear. Insure there is no blockages in the drain tube.

Is this a newly installed unit it sounds as if there's a wiring issue. Could you show a picture of the wiring terminals. If this is not a new install try turning of your furnace fan.

With the Honeywell he220, you will use alot of water, trying to turn down the water will only reduce your amount of humidity in the home, you may be able to adjust it a little but you need to take the cover off and reduce the water flow a little at a time watching the water as it flows across the pad, you just have to make sure the humidifier pad is getting plenty of water across it, to little and you lose your humidification, hope that was helpful to ya, thanks for your question,

My cord is also getting very hot after being plugged in for just a few minutes. Is there a cause for concern here? It's not even a year old, bought in January of 2022.

First check humid-stat setting make sure that the room is not above setting. Second check that float(water level) switch is being made. Hope that helps

You don't. There are some solutions you can but for it to make sure it doesn'y get slimmy, but that's about it. It works quite well without any medicine, just works great!! Ever since I bought it six years ago my son loves it and his room gets nice and cool and he can sleep and breathe much better at night. Good luck and hoepfully this was helpful to you. I would check for a hairline crack. If there is one around the union, a replacement tank will be required unless you are good with epoxy.
