if possible try and check the lines or hoses that run from the wat er supply to the point where the steam comes out. It is very possible that the lines are clogged with water deposits. Thats why most of the time they suggest that you use distilled water in your vaporizer. hop this helps. Lynn

You can also pickup some cheap humidity gauges at a hardware store to check the settings on your unit verses the actual humidity in the house.

It depends on personal preferance,an air conditionner is going to remove humidity or water from the home,as water contains heat.

I would shut off the humidifier.The 40% setting depends on where in the world your located,say nevada is dry and hot so you may want a humidifier.Where florida is hot and humid so you would want to dehumidify or get rid of the humidity.

Lower the setting to 20% or just turn it off.

A 'humidifier' puts moisture into the air. A' DEhumidifier' take water OUT of the air. It depends on what you have. Make and model is needed in all questions on Fixya please. As an aside, my room is 37%.

I fixed my machine with this error by doing the following. You need a T8 torx screwdriver and a thin flat blade srewdriver plus a replacement CR2032 button cell. Ensure that the S9 is disconnected from its power adapter. First pry up on the setting rotary knob at the top of the S9 and remove. Next remove the T8 torx screw from the bottom corner of the machine. There are then four slots located on two of the sides. Insert the flat blade screwdriver into one of the slots and gently push inward to unlatch that finger while also lifting/prying up the bottom cover. You should then be able to work your way around to each of the fingers and lift the bottom cover off. This then exposes the circuit board. There are two more T8 torx screws holding the circuit board in place. Remove them and carefully lift the board slightly. You can then see the button cell in it's holder at the corner which can now be removed and replaced with the new CR2032. The S9 can now be reassembled in the reverse order. Once reassembled, connect the power adapter but do not power on yet or you'll get the same error message as before. Hold down the power button and then while still holding it down power up the machine. Good luck, hope this helps.

If you can get it out, look for bad connections or bulging capacitors on the circuit board.

Usually, humidifiers are installed in the main distribution duct. It would make no sense to install it in the return duct.

The Main reason why it comes on is the water is empty. Beyond that.. try cleaning your machine. Also, I have two of these thing and I have yet to get it to work more than five minutes on high. Low.. it works all day long.

if you can see how much water is in it just fill it when its down.otherwise figure out how the float switch works and find out why it doesnt now...common sense rules
