Lights not working no hot water

You should contact Bloomfield to find your local Bloomfield Service vendor. You will need them for parts and/or service. *** the following is for information only as all repairs should be performed by a qualified tech.*** The start switch activates the timer (analog or digital) board which turns on the water feed to the brew tank. This forces previously heated water out and sprayed over the ground coffee in the brew funnel. Coffee then drips into the decanter. * This brewer has a tank that needs to be filled PRIOR to powering up as the heater element usually turns on as soon as it's plugged in. The thermal fuse(s) will blow if tank is not filled. Once filled and powered up. Wait 20 mins then set up a coffee funnel and decanter. Slowly pour in 1 pot of water into the top opening. Do Not splash or over fill! Water should come out of the funnel and fill the pot (full). If it's not hot then the element is not working and this unit will need service. * Check if there is an on/off heater switch on the back or side. (some are 'Vacation' switch) Turn on and wait 20 mins for another pour over brew. If it still does not heat then the limit fuse(s) are blown. * Check the on/off switch. Most models will light up when switched on. * Check the timer. Digital timers tend to be sensitive to electrical storms. Analog timers have a dial and are more tolerant of electrical surges. * If you do get a good heated brew then continue to use as a pour over or hook up the water line to the brewer. (usually a 1/4" copper line with a flare or compression fitting.) * Check the water fill solenoid. Should be a definite click when activated. Water filling sound should be very clear. * No water flow then check the water supply line if it's on. * Final; this brewer needs service. Call your coffee vendor for advice. Aloha, ukboy57

This forces previously heated water out and sprayed over the ground coffee in the brew funnel. Coffee then drips into the decanter. * But since the water line was not connected then the buzzing sound is just the valve opening. * This brewer has a tank that needs to be filled PRIOR to powering up as the heater element usually turns on as soon as it's plugged in. Bloomfield pour over Model 8543...Taking very longto brew....How long should it take?

Call for service! Repairs should be performed by a qualified Bloomfield tech. *** the following is for information only *** * Your brewer has a tank that should have 1-1/2 pots of pre-heated ready to brew water. Pouring in a cold pot of water will push out the heated water into the funnel and over the coffee grounds then into the decanter. This should all start within 15 seconds of pouring water in machine (the top opening) and continue to brew for about 2 mins with a drip out for another minute. If your getting cold or luke warm water out of the brewer then you didn't give it enough time to pre-heat (about 20 mins.) Still not hot? Then call your vendor for service. * If brewer was not pre-filled prior to powering up then the Thermal fuse may have blown due to no water in tank and/or over heating. * Depending if the tank was empty and how hot the element got will determine what blows. * If it was completely dry when plugged in then the element got cherry red hot and may have melted gaskets as well as all the fuses. * Depending on the model, there may be 2 thermal fuses or even a 3d on the thermal blanket. * If the brewer was filled but left on for a long period (weeks?) then the tank just boiled off till the fuse blew. Good chance the element is ok. But have to check to be sure. * Pre-Heated tanks like this unit.usually have a normal load on from the warmer blanket. The load (amps) will kick up on the initial heating of the tank (filled with water) then drop down after reaching temperature. * There is an additional load if any warmers are turned on. * Some brewers have a separate heater switch (some call it a 'Vacation') on/off switch on a brewer will activate the main heater element. Some have a separate switch for the brew warming plate (Blanket stays on all the time) * Easiest way to check is amperage loads on each section. Continuity is a bit harder as it does not tell you if it's shorted (unless you know the resistance loads to begin with) * Final: Get a qualified service tech to check just to be safe. Aloha, ukeboy57

Won't brew

If you don't hear a "click" it is one of two or three things. First it could be the start switch. Second could be the solenoid coil or valve is stuck. Third the water line could be shut off or blocked up. Be sure to see that water is coming out of the water line before hooking it to the brewer. That means shutting down the valve, removing the line from the brewer, getting a pitcher to catch the water, have someone slowly turn on the water valve to see if water is flowing, and if not check the valve to see that it isn't crusted up or in need of a plumber. If you have water to the machine, the filter and solenoid are usually built together on the Bloomfield. Remember no "click" is probably an electrical malfunction...not always...but 95 percent of the time either the start switch or the inlet coil to the valve is bad.

No water coming into pot

If you push the button to brew and you don't hear a "click" it could be the inlet water valve. It could be the water line is shut off below the sink. It could be an obstruction to the brewer. The best way to find out is to crack the line at the fitting, when loosening the line be sure the machine is unplugged. Make sure the water valve is off. When you remove the line from the back of the machine or loosen it, does water start to flow?...If it does have good pressure, it is probably the valve. It could be the solenoid coil only. The start switch could be the problem, you need an ohm meter to check it out. Be sure the brewer is unplugged when doing any service to it.

Coffee maker overflows

Who owns the brewer. Usually the OCS supply does the maintenance. Office Coffee Systems sell and service the brewers...the service if for free. Does it have a label on the side or anywhere. If it is overflowing, is it out of the brew basket in to the pot?...There are a couple reasons for that. Is it a water line model?. If it is a pour over, it is human error. If it is a water line model it is probably a leaky inlet water valve. http://www.pamasco.com/bloomfieldsolenoidvalvesandrelatedparts.aspx

How do I drain a bloomfield 8571?

I would remove the big fat rubber elbow from the tank going to the fill basin...and turn the brewer upside down in my sink. This is how I drained about ten thousand of them (not joking about the ten thousand). But it depends on what you are doing. Did you want to delime it? Did you pour coffee in it by mistake instead of water?....What ever the reason be sure you let it dry out good. Coffee machines are use to flooding, spraying internally, leaking and they are built to shut down breakers. If you are pulling the tank or just removing the top, you may want to leave the water in to see how much water vs lime and sediment fill the tank. Depends on where you live. Enjoy.

Why is my bloomfield leaking?

Depending on where it is leaking there are several places. I will illustrate in this drawing. The biggest problem on "non-water line models is the silicone elbows. Check them first. Unplug the brewer and remove the top burners and cover. Then get a pitcher of water and plenty of towels then start slowly pouring in the water and see if is starts filling up the top of the tank lid with water. if it does. remove the pour in tank, then remove the rubber/silicone elbows and if they come out easily, they are bad. Replace them. If you are going to replace them also replace the small 1/4 inch line that goes to the fill basin from the tank. It is about 8" long. Good luck. 24833405-u5py15qo4pcli0ppj0l5hgsm-2-0.jpg

When I pour water through it doesn't come out hot--unit doesn't seem to be heating the water

First check the hi-limit thermostat (90percent of the time this is the problem)...If that is the problem the part number is 2T-47499. Next check the Element for continuity with an ohm meter, if it is bad you will need to order a new one. Be sure to check the wattage, Some of the 120v brewers have a 1500w element and some have an 1800w element . Either can be used on the 120v machine. The 1800 watt element is a bit faster in heating. If you have the 220/240v machine you will have to order a "coil" shaped element. That is a 3500w element. There is a third problem possible and that is the Thermostat. The capilary tube could be broken (happens in the lime/rust/sulpher belt of the midwest)..If you know how to use an ohm meter you can find the problem quickly. I have a video on checking a Bunnomatic temperature, heater and hi-limit circuit, maybe it will help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNVZkYPaZko There is a page with all the parts you might need. Here it is.http://www.pamasco.com/bloomfieldthermostatsheatingelementsetc.aspx?page=2
