Altec Lansing MX6021 Expressionist ULTRA 2.1

The "pluc pluc pluc" noise you're hearing from your Altec Lansing MX6021 Expressionist ULTRA 2.1 speakers could be a sign of a few different issues. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Check the cables: Make sure all cables are connected properly and there are no loose connections. Try using a different cable to see if that solves the problem.
  2. Check the power supply: Ensure that the power supply is plugged in and working properly. Try using a different power outlet or power supply to see if that solves the problem.
  3. Check the volume: Make sure that the volume on your device is turned up and the speakers are not on mute.
  4. Try a different device: Connect the speakers to a different device to see if the issue is with your laptop or the speakers.
  5. Check for software updates: Visit the Altec Lansing website to see if there are any software updates or firmware updates available for your speakers.
If none of these solutions work, it may be time to consider contacting Altec Lansing customer support or a professional audio technician for further assistance.

My Altec IMW578N will play for a bit of time then it starts buzzing (no music), can it be fixed?

It's possible that there is a problem with the speaker itself that is causing it to produce a buzzing sound. Some common issues that can cause this type of problem include:
  1. A loose or damaged speaker cone, which can cause the speaker to vibrate excessively and produce a buzzing sound.
  2. A problem with the amplifier or other electronic components of the speaker system, which can cause the speaker to produce distorted or irregular sound.
  3. Physical damage to the speaker, such as a crack in the enclosure or a dent in the cone.
In order to fix the problem, you may need to have the speaker repaired by a professional or purchase a new speaker. It is also possible that the problem is not with the speaker itself, but with another component of your audio setup (such as the amplifier or the source device). In this case, you may need to troubleshoot and fix the problem with that component.

Altec Lansing VS4121 sub-woofer stopped working, making a low hum, right and left fine. Possible fixes?

3 causes. generic. then real. 60Hz hum/.
  1. the PSU inside the SUB is bad, as in bad CAP's inside.
  2. input cables to it bad, shields broken (coax cables)
  3. bad source signals from what ever is connect to the sub.
in this case (no pun) the main case is the SUB and the PSU is inside the sub so sub bad. or test it with no L/R speakers yet , it still hums or is dead well the main unit is bad and needs service. OR the main has cable from PC to MAIN SUB case. IF this cable is bad, is first check.but that would make L or R fail too. a bad shield will not only effect the sub speaker, (hum) the PC end is only 3 conductors L and R and shield. some are sold double shielded, and are prime to own.. try a new 3.5mm phone patch cable, just in case his fixes it cheap. or the 2 cable ends to PC , phone plugs are lose or dipped in spilled drinks gunk. or PC is bad , ( try other sources , PC, phones, or mp3 /dvd players.) the PC bad would effect R or L too. IMO

Altec Lansing ACS31 not fully working

Time to throw them away. They used to be a good company, but they aren't any longer. I have had two pairs go bad. My replacement hissed when the power was off. Altec Lansing were not interested that they were live when switched off. All switching off did was was cut the source input. I gave them away and bought Bowers and Wilkins MM1. By far the best speakers I have ever owned.

Model ADA880 subwoofer. How can I replace fuse?

If your sub is in a sealed enclosure, access is gained by removing the speaker. If there is an internal circuit board, it may be buried in great wads of damping material.

I have a Altec Lansing multimedia computer speaker system ACS295 but I bought the speakers separate from the subwoofer so the two speakers have a different CHW number that the subwoofer has how can I make them match to work together?

Numbers do not have to match as long as the Ohms are equal. Usually 8 Ohms per speaker is normal. The low impedance allows you to attach the wires without getting a shock. The most that happens is a tone of sorts. Just align + to + and - to -
