I downloaded the fat32 formater from the iomega website but it doesnt work. I use windows 7 home premium. It finds the drive but when I press format ,windows hangs and just says program not responding

Have been using on PC and want to switch to mac. Can I download my files from this harddrive OS X can read and write both FAT32 and NTFS, so it shouldn't be a problem using this drive on Mac.
